BLACKOUT!

So I'm sure that everyone and their mothers know about the plane crash/blackout on Friday night. First of all-i thought it was funny how all I've heard is how the Cessna is the "Volvo of the sky"-uhhh branding much? Volvo dominates safety so much that its name can even carry over to airplanes. I feel like a lot of the people that said that to me didn't exactly know what they were saying when they did-but I got the point.
Second-so I was at work, and our power flickered for a few minutes when the plane crashed, but we all obviously did not know what instantly happened. One of my co-workers has a boyfriend who works in the Leach (which, when the plane crashed lost all power and went completely blackout...think like you can't even see your hand in front of your face black out). So he called her and told her the story. Now, my first question to him was about the treadmills. Could you not imagine seeing people run on the treadmills & then having them randomly stop-I know these people had to go flying into something, and I'm sure that would've been a sight to see. (He claims nothing like this happened..boo). He did enlighten me with this story, however. They were evacuating all of the students out of the Leach, and a few staff had flashlights & most people were using their cell phones as guides. Aparently, in the midst of this unknown blackout this girl REFUSED to get off the elliptical. The guy had to go upstairs in pitch black and ask the girl to please stop working out and evacuate the building. Listen-I know there's a lot of pressure to drop those winter pounds for spring break but SERIOUSLY? It could've been a terrorist attack and this girl just kept going. He said she didn't have her cell phone either so she was just chillin' in the dark on the elliptical. This story pretty much made my whole weekend. What some people will do :)
