I have to write in response to "Is that enough flair for you?"
"One last comment… I think it was T. Roosevelt that said “everybody should be waiter in their lives so they know how it feels.” This quote is retarded. First of all, being a waiter/ waitress is soo easy and we are WAYYYYY over paid. "
Working as a cocktail, I only serve food about 40% of my shifts. However, cocktailing and serving is by no means "soo easy". As a cocktail I work 8 hour shifts that usually end no earlier than 2:45 AM, I deal with you when you're drunk, pay your tab when you walk out, clean up after you when you leave, and I do all of this with a SMILE. While I make amazing money, I earn every last bit of it. My friends have come to call me an "indentured servant" seeing as though my job OWNS me. I'm promoting and advertising when i'm not at work, which is by the way a rare occasion. I agree with the quote above whole heartedly. After working in the service industry I have learned you should ALWAYS tip your waiter/waitress, even if it's bad service take things into consideration: she didn't pour your drink, she didn't cook your food, if they are understaffed it's not the servers fault. On top of that if you don't tip your server, a majority of the time they end up paying out others from their pocket. Yes, as a cocktail I tip out the cook 3% of my sales and the bartenders/barbacks 8% of my sales... So consider how much I am tipping out on your $40.00 tab that you "stiffed" me on. While by no means is it easy, I love my job and I encourage you to take the time to evaluate your server and the work they provide more closely next time!

Agreed whole-heartedly... !
"she didn't pour your drink, she didn't cook your food"
The server DOES "PUT IN THE ORDER" and "BRING YOU YOUR FOOD AND DRINKS"(not counting if another server brings the food or drinks out, which sometimes happens.)
I have had wrong orders before due to the server not putting in the order correctly, so they couldn't very well blame the kitchen staff for that. I have also had servers "FORGET" to put in appetizer orders before, so you cannot blame the kitchen staff for that. I have also had bar drinks forgotten about and waited 25 minutes one time and 35 minutes another time for 1 margarita, which one of those times the server admitted he forgot and the other there was a mix up due to being out of a certain glass.
Also, I have had margaritas not filled all the way up and actually be quite a bit underfilled, but they stupidly brought it to me anyways. If you can SEE something is wrong, DON'T BRING IT TO THE CUSTOMER.
I have ordered a white russian with kahlua and grey goose vodka, have gotten delivered from the SAME WAITRESS a Ice Cream Mudslide. I have also ordered a white russian at another restaurant made with kahlua and absolute vodka, which the SAME WAITRESS brought out a clear glass with dark brown liquid in it instead of "WHITE." She brought me a "BLACK RUSSIAN", because she didn't understand what a white russian is made with. I have NEVER had to say "cream" before, because a white russian is automatically made with cream.
In those situations, the SERVERS were at fault, NOT the bartenders, so QUIT SAYING "SHE DIDN'T POUR YOUR DRINKS", because SOMETIMES IT CAN BE THE SERVER'S FAULT. I NEVER SAID ALL THE TIME, BUT SOMETIMES IT CAN BE.
Also, in most restaurants, soft drinks, tea, water, and coffee are retrieved by the wait staff, NOT bartenders.
Also, if you can SEE that my bacon looks soggy and flat instead of crispy and wavy if I have ordered it CRISPY, then YOU are at fault for "BRINGING" it to me wrong, NOT the cook. MOST mistakes can be caught in the KITCHEN BEFORE bringing it to the customer.
"if they are understaffed it's not the servers fault."
Even if they are understaffed, a server can BRING out food and drinks correctly by double checking the order.
