So last weekend in Buckhead, Amanda, Tony, and I came up with a list of things that we need to write the commissioner about. I'm sure I forgot most of the things that we talked about, but here are some issues that they should get fixed in Atlanta.
1. Street signs should be visible
We had the hardest time getting anywhere simply because it was a man hunt every time we reached an intersection. Thank God a lot of people where nicer drivers there because there were so many times when we would have to merge across 3 lanes at the last minute simply because the street sign was 30 feet to the left of the intersection.
2. Peach Tree
OK, I understand that people like o "flaunt what they got" but really? How many streets can possibly start with "Peachtree?" Peachtree Street, Peachtree Road, NE Peachtree S, Peachtree Dr, Preachtree Blvd, Peachtree Plaza. YUCK. Think about it, we have Florida Oranges, and we can't deny that they are delicious. Yet we choose NOT to name every freaking street after an orange. Come on Mr. Commissioner, get it right.
3. Turning lanes
This is just a safety issue. It was probably an oversight or something. But we would like to suggest adding turning lanes to your city. I'm just saying, I really don't think I saw ONE turning lane the whole time. It would just relieve the stress.
4. Under construction
Everywhere in Buckhead is under construction. Literally. But you know what, maybe its not their fault, maybe it's just a "Buckhead" thing. I wouldn't be shocked to find out that a road falls apart in Buckhead every 3 hours. It just seems to fit. At any rate, can we get at least one road that runs smoothly, if it's not too much to ask.
I know there were plenty more things on the list, but I honestly just forgot them. I'll add if I remember.
