Hey Everyone!!

This is my first time ever blogging and it's actually pretty fun! I read back to posts from the summer to get some ideas and got waaayy too distracted reading how everyone's summer went...then I felt kind of stalkerish and stopped lol. Well, I am super excited about Creative 2 and this semester! Creative 1 was an interesting experience with Hanlon and I always heard so much of "creative with Tom and Melissa" so I just had to see what all the talk was about! I am definitely up for challenge!

Something ironic happened this summer that I think is important to mention. I had Communications for Business and Professionals last semester with many of you and one of my speeches was about Eric Dane and skin cancer. I think it was around Spring Break. Anyways, I decided to add a dermatologist appointment to my spree of doctor's appointments that we all love to come home to. She decided to biopsy this weird mosquito bite looking thing on my arm and ironically it came back pre-malignant!! I freaked! She basically told me that if I had waited a little longer it would have been melanoma. Can you believe that? Melanoma at 21!? It's pretty rare at such a young age to develop something like that but luckily it was caught on time and I'll be fine. I just have to go down for a couple procedures to make sure it is completely out, be extremely careful, and wear sunscreen everyday! As if I weren't white enough! (some people don't even believe I'm Hispanic, only by my last name!) Sorry if that was a downer to the blog but I think it's really important!! Be careful! the hot Florida sun can be brutal!
