News or Bust?

It really upsets me that the newest edition of the Today Show.....the tenth hour with Kathy Lee and Hoda, are becoming a gab session similar to that of the view. The topics are beginning to drift further away from reality and touch on what I like to call....Barbie's Bitch World (a.k.a. obessing over the lives of overly dramatic, cracked out celebrities). It's not just the Today Show that is picking up on this new news trend, local meida outlets are also jumping on the band-wagon. I just can't help but wonder: What is happening to America? Is society so boring that the only dirt we can dish up is on 15 year old alcoholics that blame their addictions on such a "hard life?" What ever happened to reporting the "real news." Let's turn our focus away from sociallites and on to soical issues. I, personally, would like to know more about what LA and MS are duing to prepare for the Hurricanes, what is happening in Iraq, or even learning more about the Presidential Candidates. There are more important issues at hand, besides who broke up with whom and who was admitted into rehab yet again.
