Adding the Extra to Ordinary

Missouri definitely has more to offer than just the football program whose featured Chase Daniels over the years and the Big 12 champion 2009 basketball squad who is participating in the NCAA tournament with Zaire Taylor and J.T. Tiller leading the way against Cornell first. Now there's Jerry, not Jerry Seinfeld, but rather a legally blind man who asked only to be identified as Jerry.

So what makes the man from Fenton, Missouri so special? Well, Jerry was in fact credited with saving a woman after authorities said a 45-year-old man broke into her apartment on Saturday night. Authorities said the man, a convicted rapist, was waiting for the woman to return home from work.

Jerry heard noises coming from the apartment. Mind you, he is blind in his left eye and has about 25 percent vision in his right eye. Jerry told KTVI-TV that he went to the apartment and kicked open the door, surprising the would-be attacker, who locked the door. The woman came home and confirmed she didn't know the man in her apartment, and police took the suspect away. The man was charged with burglary.

A simple act of random kindness and awareness, which proves that someone, even with a disability can do something extraordinary. He also wanted to keep his identity secret, which may mean...he's Marvel's own superhero, the Daredevil. You never know!
