Origins 2009 is a really interesting seminar event hosted by FSU for two weeks every year. The point of the event is to celebrate Charles Darwin's birthday. This year will be his 200th birthday. Here is some more information explaining the event I got off of the website. This will be really interesting for anyone who is a science nerd (I have my moments).

"For two weeks in March the Tallahassee community will have the rare opportunity to see and hear renowned scholars discuss how fundamental discoveries in science, religion, philosophy, history, and the arts have shaped our understanding of life, civilization, and our grasp of what lies ahead."

Most, if not all, of the speeches/seminars are free and open to the public. I've heard only amazing things about them and hope to attend one sometime this week!

Here is the website that has the schedule and everything: origins.fsu.edu
