synthesis

I have become interested in synthesizers recently. I have always known what they do, always thought they sounded cool, but never really thought into them that much. It's interested how a machine can create and mix sounds to make something completely different. How you can synthesize two things and the outcome be even greater and sound almost independent of them both. I want to play around with one now!
