Have you ever been in a public place, gotten a waft of some great smelling food and then either went to purchase it or go home and cook it yourself? Well, Arcade Marketing Inc. likes this notion, especially for their client, The California Milk Processor Board.
In 2006, the scent of chocolate chip cookies wafted from milk advertisements in five bus shelters in San Francisco due to Arcade Marketing Inc.'s new technology called MagniScent. While scent-based advertisements aren't groundbreaking, (think about the little perfume samples in magazines) they have never been put to the test like this!
Arcade Marketing was hoping crowds waiting for a bus would be enticed to go home and grab a glass of milk after they smelled the cookies and saw the well known "Got Milk?" advertisements.
Personally, I think the smell of chocolate chip cookies is one of the best scents in the world; but don't you think the mixture of smells that already lurk around bus shelters combined with the smell of chocolate chip cookies might make for a very funky smell (in a a bad way)?

Could it be time for the California Milk Processing Board to fork out some $ for a new ad campaign?

Let me just say, this would probably work on me.
