Lichtenstein gets REAL

For those of you who don't know, Roy Lichtenstein was a 1960's American Pop artist who's signature style was recreating classic comic book illustration into amazing works of art.

Lichtenstein described his art as"not 'American' painting but actually industrial painting"

One of his most famous works included a blonde girl, who was commonly referred to as Lichtenstein's girl.

So how do you reconnect a new generation with inspiring and creative art like Lichtenstein's?
Make her real, futuristic, and glamourous of course!
M.A.C. cosmetics took on the task of recreating Lichtenstein's girl to a real life portrayal for a new campaign.

here is M.A.C's recreation.

Even down to the dots used in old school comic book printing! M.A.C. nailed this recreation perfectly!

Just like Lichtenstien brought new life to comic book illustration, M.A.C. did the same for his inspiring art.

It's even more proof that almost everything can have new life for a new generation of people,

but most importantly consumers.
