What's your secret?

Have you cheated on an important test? Do you flip pennies on the ground so that they're heads up for the next passerby? Are you in love with your best friend? Do you wish you were someone else, someone better than yourself? Every week, the PostSecret website publishes 20 home-made post cards that share the deepest, darkest, and sometimes funniest secrets of society.

This community art project, known as
PostSecret, was created by Frank Warren in January 2004. Every week, hundreds to thousands of
anonymous members of the community send their secrets to Frank's home address in Maryland. On Sundays, Frank uses Blogspot to upload the 20 secrets that will be featured online for the next seven days. This project's popularity has grown nationwide, and occasionally viewers will see an international secret posted as well.

The beauty of this project is that it has the power to connect humankind. Although some of the secrets seem totally obscure, vulgar, or altogether u
nimaginable, others have the power to speak directly to us and we realize that we are not alone in this world. I really like that there is such a simple concept behind the fact that we are all more alike than we may think.

For more secrets, you can search sites like facebook fan pages, Twitter, and order a number of books compiled from the post cards online.

I don't know if this started or a blog or a book first (probably a blog), but the books are amazing. I think there are several of them out by now but I have sat in Barnes and Noble and read an entire PostSecret for about an hour without even realizing how long I was there. All of the secrets are so interesting
