Elance is real

I don't know if anyone actually went to Elance.com after Tom talked about it, but I wanted to post about it to make it easier for you to see it. This business model really changes the way production and essentially all business is done. You could essentially outsource anything to someone that has a 12 hour difference from you, and then get work done continuously around the clock. I was talking with someone about this and the one problem that he recognized was a communication barrier. He said that as long as you can effectively communicate what you need or what needs changed you would be golden. If not it could turn into a headache.

And for all of you people trying to build a portfolio, this may be a great place to start looking for jobs to do side work. I know that if I ever get a couple of free minutes I am going to explore the site much more.

It's Friday, have a good weekend.

Elance is really is a neat concept. The idea of having creative ideas coming from literally everywhere 24/7 is incredible. And, it really lets us take the proverbial blinders off and discover that WE (USA) don't even come close to having a lock on concepts, copy or design. It is a great way to become less provincial and more open to the power of ideas that often come from the least expected places and people.
