Should I get a Mac?

The first question I was asked when I began my internship was whether I was familiar with Macs. Of course I answered yes, but the truth was that I had quite a bit to learn about Mac computers. Everyone that I talk to that already owns a Mac says they would never use a PC again. Of course, I figured this was all an exaggeration, but once I began using a Mac at Zimmerman I fell in love. Everything is so much more organized and Macs are just easier to use in general. Also, everywhere I go, I hear how important it is to be fluent with Mac computers, especially if you want to go into advertising. So, in conclusion, I have fallen in love with Mac computers... the one problem... $$$. The cheapest Mac is $1,000 and the screen is only 13 inches. My question to all of you, who thinks Macs are worth how expensive they are compared to PCs?? Especially if you have a Mac, please let me know what you think.

Well, I got my first Mac this fall, and I love it. And I think it is worth the price, I mean, it is very rarely that I found errors, it has never frozn on me, Adobe programs work faster, and everythings looks just prettier!
So, I say go for it.

I agree, and would like to say that if you can scrounge up the money go for it. Although many people will tell you that macs have compatibility issues with pcs, they are working together way better these days then ever. I have been on a mac since I was a senior in high school. I practically spent my whole life savings on it so that I could edit a documentary that I did for history fair. I can't work on pcs anymore. They trip me out because of how complex they are to do things. the user interface is definitely much better on macs and I will most likely never buy a pc again. As for the comment that everyone in advertising is on a mac, you would be surprised at how many agencies aren't on them too. So, statistically there are still way more pcs then macs, but if you want the "pampered" computer experience, macs are the way to go.

you already know... but i've had issues with my mac book since I got it. Not common with macs as far as I know, but i'm a little disappointed with it. It's coming with us to Atlanta so it can visit the mac store there. :) come with and play around.... :)
