AIM Might Have Taken Its Last Breath

I think that instant messaging clients like AIM might be in for some serious trouble in the very near future. Facebook has just turned on its chat feature to a few networks. The chat works similar to the way other instant messaging applications do and it also sends you updates on notifications.

One thing that I'm not sure about is that there is an online friends list that stays open where ever you go on Facebok. However, keeping the list open throughout Facebook makes it seem like much more of a live communication site. I guess we will have to see if there will be groups made to revolt against it. Facebook chat still hasn't been officially released by Facebook, but it is said that it will be over the next few days or so.
