Okay-so I stumbled across a list of things that will be hot in the '08 and obvi I already want everything on it...but this one was by far the coolest!
YES ITS AN UNDERWATER HOTEL! It's called Poseidon Mystery Island, and how could you not want to be there right now? It's in Fiji, and its like a land based hotel and then you take elevators down to your underwater rooms that look like little pods hangin out in the ocean. Let me address some of your concerns-
1. the pods are not glass on the sides so you cannot see into the rooms next to and aparently the glass is built out of some crazy reflective material so that during the day the sun will make it impossible for anyone hanging out in the ocean to see in your room.
2. at night you can darken (?) some of the windows so people can't see in. I don't really know how this would work-but I guess in the scheme of this whole underwater hotel deal, tinting the windows shouldn't be high on my list of concerns.
3. there is a wedding chapel so you can get married underwater.
4. the air pressure is exactly the same as it is on land.
5. They start taking reservations March 17! and the first tourists will go in early '09!
6. oh-and its only $30,000! haha thats the price for 2 people to go for one week. and that is only for 2 nights in the underwater tank...the rest of the nights you stay in a hotel on the beach. i thought this was a weird concept.
