Corporate Crashers

I love weddings for a few reasons...

1. Being around family.
2. Older people dancing inappropriately.
3. Open bar.
4. Seeing two people in love promise to spend the rest of their lives together.

My sister was married this weekend in St. Augustine. It was incredible and I had so much fun. I want someone to be married every weekend!

Me, my mom, sister, and aunt.

See #2.

My siblings.

The bride.

Not so fun about weddings however, paying for them. Of course, luckily advertising knows no bounds. Apparently, there is a trend in corporate-sponsored weddings. In a New York Time's article a bride had "swapped advertising space on her 175 guests' programs for $5,000 white gold wedding bands and her diamond engagement ring, a $1,000 gown and a $250-an-hour Lincoln Navigator stretch limousine. She will pay only $3,000 of the $15,000 price tag." Companies of course aren't giving stuff away to every bride, they're looking for a "creative hook that will prompt news media coverage."

It's nice to know that nothing is sacred.

Here's the article, if you're interested.
