Break Time

Spring Break could not be approaching at a better time. I am experiencing an unhealthy amount of stress over roommate drama, creative writing workshops and internship applications, not to mention being completely physically and creatively drained. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat.

Today I decided that in order for me to not have a complete meltdown, I needed a change. A fresh working and living environment. So, I redesigned my bedroom. Not as in altering color schemes or painting my walls something new, but as in moving all the furniture around. Now, it looks amazing! And I solved several problems as well. You see, my bedroom is freezing. I am talking unbearably Arctic ice cube cold. My roommates and I are poor and cheap so heat is not really an option. So I make due. My bed used to be directly beside the window and aside from losing sleep from subzero temperatures, the window emits a significant amount of moisture that freezes on my pillows and makes the whole situation even more uncomfortable. So, I picked up my bed (well, not really "picked up", it was more of a pushing with all my might until it moved sort of action) and moved it to the opposite wall. No more sleeping in an igloo for me. I also moved my chair to to opposite side of the room (close to where my bed used to be) so that it faces the television. Before, the chair placement was quite inconvenient, facing away from the television, far away from my Ethernet cord. Now I can watch The Colbert Report and go on facebook with much greater ease!

In case you couldn't tell, I am very pleased with the redesign. It greatly improved the format of my room and was a great way to avoid doing actual work. I highly recommend it. It inspires creativity and can provide an entirely new outlook on life! Seriously!
