"Tradition" Way??

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but one of our unique old buildings on campus is no more...The wheels of progress are turning and leaving some of FSU's history in its wake. The buildings are and were some of my favorite on campus. They're the little houses next to the Diner and the SLC. The former Center for Civic Education, Intensive English Studies, Black Student Union and Museum, and the Women's and LGBTQ Center.

These houses were built in the 1920's and were originally part of a neighborhood of homes for faculty of the Florida State College for Women. Now they're being torn down to make way for a new "Thagard" and some parking. Only a couple of the trees will survive and soon no one will know these buildings were ever there. I guess I don't like change very much, but I think it's things like these houses that make our campus so unique and full of history. Ironically, Tradition Way and the Legacy Walk will be a little emptier soon. Enjoy them while they last :)
