"Dude, you Need to get up!"

I experienced one of the funniest moments of my life this morning. For Arrowhead, we created a viral campaign to help combat binge drinking. On campus this morning we staged multiple people to "Pass out" at different spots on campus. We put signs on the bottom of their shoes that had statements like "I puked on the sidewalk" and "Best night of my life?" and then our tag line on a solo cup. The purpose was to let word-of-mouth spread like wildfire and it certainly did! People were so confused, they thought that he really was passed out! A ton of people tried to wake the "drunk" up, and were sincerely worried despite the fact that they had a sign on them. The police were called multiple times throughout the day (we pre-notified them of course), and we heard people talking on their cell phones and in faculty offices about this campaign. One of the funniest quotes we got from my station was a man trying to wake the body up and said "Dude, you have to get up. You have to get up. You are going to get an arrest for drunk entanglement. I'm just trying to help you out." Not only was this campaign unique, but it was a very effective test run!
