First Friday

"First Friday" is this upcoming Friday the 6th. For those who do not know, on the first Friday of every month, several local art galleries stay open late til about 10pm with no admission fees for the people of the Tallahassee community. I find that many people, students especially, say that Tallahassee is a city that is lacking in culture, arts, and entertainment. This night is actually the perfect opportunity for anyone, especially students, to see just how culturally and creatively infused this city really is. Railroad Square off Railroad St. by FAMU is where I have visited on "First Friday", and it is definitely worth visiting. The shops and galleries are all open late, some even serving wine for the visitors, there is often live music in the streets, and the FSU student art studios even open up to the public for students to show and sell some of their pieces. It is an absolutely AMAZING opportunity to see the creativity this city really does foster, to socialize with others, and to even get your own creative juices flowing with new ideas inspired by the ideas of others. Check it out!
