Axe and Chocolate???

When I first saw the dark chocolate temptation Axe ad...I thought to myself.."Men's deodorant with a hint of chocolate scent? This could be strange..." By the end of it I was laughing and thinking how clever the whole idea actually was.....It totally got the point across, If you wear Axe....women will be wanting you like they want chocolate. You may have seen this ad and thought that it was wierd. Wierd or not, I think it is definitely effective. It is somewhat comparable to Mr. Whipple in the Charmin ads (you know what I'm talking about if you read chapter one of whipple). Everyone questions how such a wierd/strange/obnoxious ad achieves such high brand awareness and preference, it's because it is memorable and to say the least for the axe ad unique! if you have'nt scene it, check it out. Whoever thought of it was really trying to get in the minds of the wants and needs of the target audience.
