even lil' wayne is effected by the recession

I went on CNN.com today, like I do most days to catch up on what is going on in the world and was really annoyed by what I read. Aside from Michael Phelps being royally screwed and Chris Brown being arrested for assaulting Rihanna, there was an economics article about how the recession is so serious it is even effecting big time hip hop musicians. Really? I don't understand why this article even exists. I guess they are trying to make regular people feel better about being hit by hard times, but they don't even do that. They just talk about all the extravagant things that these rappers can't do anymore. Even if they don't wear huge chains and all the bling they are still not regular people and I in no way identify with them during this recession. They even go so far as to have a picture of Lil' wayne at the Grammys with this caption "Rapper Lil Wayne performs Sunday night at the Grammys wearing a modest necklace." Honestly, there is no way that Lil' wayne sold his jewelry that he normally wears or doesn't have enough money to buy whatever new necklace he wants. Artists and anyone else that have money are simply making the choice to not be as flamboyant about there wealth. They would lose fans if they went out in public flaunting all that they have in an obnoxious way. Their PR agents would never let them leave the house with jewels and fur on even if they wanted to. It is just annoying that they are claiming that the reason for this modesty is not being able to afford what they used to. In any case, I still love Lil' Wayne just as much as I always have, chain or no chain. He is one of my favorite rappers I listen to his music everyday especially the Drought 3 mixtape. He is brilliant in my opinion and has my blessing to wear as much bling as his lil' heart desires, just don't say he cant afford it.
