I found this article talking about what would happen if google were to be down or not work for 72 hours or more. This really got me thinking about just how dependent I am, and I'm sure many other people are on google. No matter what the topic, question, or category, the phrase "google it" has seemed to become part of everyday language. And why google? Why not "yahoo it"? Something about google, even the word itself is very appealing. It is realiable, and almost always gives you the answer your looking for. Its almost hard to imagine life without it. How would I find a particular restaraunt or article of clothing I want to purchase? I think google should have so more competition before they take over the world. Even now they have gmail, google phone, and google news. Its almost like our crutch!
Now with all this said, I will without a doubt continue to "google" my life. I like the convience and having that little tool bar add on to my browser where I can just type and click and pronto theres my answer. It feels like having unlimited access and knowledge to almost anything. It really is hard for me to imagine even going to college without google. I know almost every paper or assignment I have writen for a class I can attribute my use of google. All in all google is a great tool and as suseptible as it is to attack I hope it wont be. because I wouldnt want to see what would happen if google was gone.
