White Space

Last week we talked a little bit about the importance of white space. And of course, there's the ever-important task of breaking through the clutter. These ads are a great example of both, and I think they break through the clutter in an elegant way. The ads are simple, attractive, and not intrusive.
The ads grabbed my attention because the picture is so strange, but after reading the tagline and the logo, it makes perfect sense. The ads for a farmer's market, and the tagline for the banana reads "Open All Winter". Other ads feature a carrot, a pear, and some tomatoes all wearing individual sweaters with lots of white space and a single, vibrant photo. The tagline for the apple says "Fresh for the Holidays", and other ads feature an orange, a banana, and some peas all breaking out of their wrapping-paper-skin. I think this campaign shows exactly how the right picture can do all the talking for you.

You can see the rest of the campaign here.
