A Creative Environment

"There are two ways of being Creative. One can sing and dance. Or one can Create an environment in which singers and dancers flourish."
     - Warren G. Bennis

I feel that when it comes to being creative, it always helps to have a little inspiration...

My elementary school art teacher once asked us to start keeping an Inspiration Box. She wanted us to take an empty shoe box and fill it with anything and everything we found that we liked or that sparked our creativity. Pictures from magazines, colorful leaves and flowers, a cassette of our favorite song, etc. Then we would have this collection to return to if we ever needed a little creative push.

I think its a great idea to collect things that inspire us and surround ourselves with them. While an empty room can be full of potential, a decorated room can be full of inspiration. I found this website over the summer that is mostly an interior design blog, but I think its great for all kinds of creative design. The people blogging are mostly creative people who design for fun, some talented designers working their way into the business, and those who are interested and want to learn more. It's pretty artsy and full of pictures. It's kind of like our blog, where people just post to share the things they love with others. Bloggers bring inspiration from all over the world and give lots of fun tips. One day someone will be asking how to spruce up an old and boring dresser, and the next they'll post pictures of awesome holiday decorations, or a creative art display they saw on their way to the train.

Even if this site isn't necessarily your style, I hope you find something that gets your creative juices flowing. Whether its clippings in a box, or a bookmarked page on Safari...Get inspired!
