You Have been Sacrificed

So I'm not too sure how many people have heard of Burger Kings "Whopper Sacrifice" facebook application. Basically, the big guys for BK decided to reach us, the book is the way to go.

Basically, you had the option to sacrifice a friend on FB; to end 10 friendships for a free whopper. Most people have randoms they don't really know, so this is all good, easy food right? Well the catch is this, you had to actually let the application notify the person that you traded their friendship for this burger.

I'm telling my roommate Bonnie about this, when the funniest thing to happen in about an hour in my apartment unfolds....apparently some guy she went to high school with had sacrificed her for a whopper earlier that week, and she had no clue what it was! Then the kid friend requested her again, just to dump her off for some free burger king.

Well, surprise, just as this viral marketing begins to pick up and people start to understand whats going on, the book shuts it down. Apparently, this is against FB's user agreement (you can't tell people when someone un-friends them).

So now when you go to the whopper sacrifices site (probably looking for that free and easy meal) you see this:

In the end your love for the Whopper Sandwich proved to be stronger than 233,906 friendships.

You can also send an "Angry Gram" to people now, in response, so that an angry whopper sandwich will go yell at them....

ENJOY!
