Inspired by Ernest Hemingway's short story "For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn," Smith Magazine began running open submissions of "memoirs" in six words, getting equally fascinating entries from the famous and the unknown.
The best of the responses were collected into "Not Quite What I Was Planning," which became a bestseller. But the memoirs kept coming, and now, just in time for Valentine's Day, there's a new collection, "Six Word Memoirs of Love and Heartbreak by Writers Famous and Obscure." So I ask you, what would you say in only 6 words?
Here's a few of my favorite excerpts and also a link to the book on Amazon:
"I loved the idea of you"
"It hurts even worse in French"
"He posted our sex tape online"
"She got back on the Vespa"
